What this tour is about:
The best way to experience Bangalore is in the morning, when there is no traffic. The city awakens early and the wholesale markets are a photographer’s delight. Joggers and cyclists enjoy the many parks and gardens. The devout make their temple visits, before heading to work. It’s the perfect time to see some of the city’s major monuments and tourist sites, before the roads get crowded.
Places we visit:
This tour begins with a dawn visit to the popular KR Market. This is a wholesale flower and vegetable market, where we will see the morning trucks arrive with their fragrant loads of flowers, petals and leaves. Enjoy the colourul chaos that ensues, and be prepared for a sensory overload! You will also get a great introduction to seasonal vegetables and fruits, as well as other local specialties.
From KR Market, we drive to the Basavangudi precinct (this is one of the oldest neighbourhoods in Bangalore, where Kempegowda II established a watchtower). Here, we will visit the old Bull Temple, after which the area is named. We will walk through the Bugle Rock garden (the site of the old watchtower), and visit Gandhi Bazaar for breakfast at a well known local café.
After breakfast, we drive through the central part of the city, seeing Lalbagh Gardens, the Vidhana Soudha, the High Court and Cubbon Park. We will drop you back at the hotel after this.
