Ends: Approximately 12:00 noon at the same place

What this tour is about:
This is a walking tour for those interested in photographing daily life in Bangalore. Jayanagar is a multi-cultural neighbourhood in the southern part of the city. It was laid out in 1948, as the first planned neighbourhood of post-independence Bangalore. It has both residential and bazaar areas; with Hindu temples, Jain derasars and Muslim mosques all existing side by side. In recent times, migrants from different parts of India have settled here, giving Jayanagar a truly pluralistic outlook. A survey in 2010 voted Jayanagar as the best place to live in Bangalore.

Places we visit:
On this photography tour, you will accompany a photo-journalist as she takes you through the Jayanagar 4th Block area. While there is a broad route planned, the walk will vary based on the photo- opportunities available. We will spend time at the flower market, fruit market, vegetable market and puja-items market. We will also see religious monuments, food stalls, textile shops, etc. The pace of the tour is slow, to allow as much photography as you wish. Apart from photography, this walk is a great way to understand the people of Bangalore, their many faiths and diverse ways of life.
